“ I was planning to visit Koite Grill in Silver Spring this weekend, but saw on ig that their food truck was near me in Forestville! I ordered online and it gave me a pick up time with the order confirmation. When I arrived they had a speaker with music playing, and someone was cooking on 2 big grills. I had to wait a few minutes for my order, but the music set a nice atmosphere, so I didn't mind. I ordered the grilled chicken with jollof and it was DELICIOUS! I honestly ate half of it right it my car. I ordered the large and it was enough for about 3 servings. I'll definitely be back to try the BBQ chicken next time. ”
“ Food is so good!! I love this place!! I want to try the yassa shrimp but I just got to get the maafe chicken everytime , and I want to try the red snapper lol one day!! But go check them out you will not be disappointed ”
“ I'm from Ghana so I will say of course I think our jollof rice is the best. Now I will give credit where it's due, the jollof rice here at this Senegalese restaurant is absolutely delicious. I literally came back multiple weekends in a row to dine here. There is also a pepper sauce they provided to accompany the jollof. If you can't handle spice, I suggest you skip it because it's very spicy and I love it. I keep saying I will try different dishes when I go but I stick with the jollof rice, fataya and puff puff. I'm sure you can't go wrong with any dish here. Oneday, I'll try something different but for now, let me go with what I know and enjoy. Thiebou-yap: jollof rice, beef marinated with Senegalese herbs and spices, cooked with mixed vegetables Fataya: Deep fried Senegalese patties, stuffed with well-seasoned ground beef or fish fillet. Puff Puff: Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside donuts filled with shredded coconut. ”
“ Went to the food truck location in Forestville MD, on 10/16/24. Got the Dibi chicken with steak and my oh my!!!!! The food was amazing. The steak and chicken was seasoned to the gods and the jollof rice was also a hit the Mac and cheese was good as well but them onions they give you with your meal hmmmmmm chef kiss. Customer service was great and they even let me sample the meats before I brought my meal. ”
“ Delicious and filling. Came with jollof rice and a spicy sauce that hit the spot. I recommend for a flavorful meal ”
“ I'll keep this short, their food is amazing! Since first trying this delicious meat, I've tried their Silver Spring, College Park, and District Height locations. While each is different, they all are delicious. Silver Spring: They have the most extensive menu. It's in downtown Silver Spring, so parking can be challenging. They also have limited seating. College Park: They have a limited menu that focuses on their Dibi meat. Parking is easy, and the service is friendly District Heights: They are open Wednesday - Sunday. They have some additional grilled items available. Also, their prices are slightly cheaper. I love the Duo with lamb and goat. Their jollof rice has been my side of choice. I also love their ginger juice. Foodie Tip: Go, now! ”
“ I'm definitely going to be in this place once a week. The food was SO good and authentic. The restaurant itself was clean and felt home like, and the service was amazing. I ordered the dibi mixed grill with lamb and goat, as well as the beef meat pie. Both came out hot and fresh, and tasted amazing. The portion sizes are huge as well. I've only heard good reviews about this place and had to come see for myself. 100/10 recommended ”
“ 10/10! A+++++++ Listen, I need a food tour of the continent! I stumbled across this food truck because Marlboro Pike is the unofficial spot for food trucks in this area (District Heights/Forestville, PG County). When I saw that it was Senegalese food I got more excited-- I've never had it! The sign on the truck said they had award-winning jollof. Not sure what award, but I was convinced. You know I had to do my research, asking others in line for recommendations and wait time. I told them I'd come back another time because the reported 20-minute wait wasn't in my plans. The guy working the window gave me a sample, I think to ensure I came back later. *mind blown* I placed an online order for pick up later. One small plate and an extra side was $30. I prefer to eat $30 meals at a sit down restaurant, but I was pleasantly happy that I could experience this here vs. a trip to Silver Spring where they have a brick and mortar. This was great because the food tasted fresh and not laden with sprinkled on spices. Their onions didn't looked grilled, but they are delicious (I ordered extra) and this is coming from a semi-onion hater. The food truck didn't have my desired veggie side so I opted for drinks. The pineapple ginger is kick throat and tasty. The hibiscus drink is rich and the sweet that my taste buds needed. I let my son taste my food and he started closing his eyes and humming before getting a good bite in. He started asking a bunch of questions: where is this? When are they there? etc. I'd say he gives it his stamp of approval, lol. I definitely recommend this truck and to order online, though have a plan B as they might be out of something without you knowing. ”
“ For lunch, a friend took me to Koite Grill after I expressed curiosity in Senegalese cuisine. We arrived on Saturday at 12 right when they opened, put in our orders at the counter, and sat ourselves. Food arrived quickly, after 10 minutes. Everything arrived in to-go containers, piping hot; I also received a normal plate for dine-in. The meat patties ($8, 2 patties), ostensibly resembled large empanadas. The filling proved much more flavorful and juicy, with simmered tomato flavors emanating from the ground beef. The accompanying tomato-based sauce accentuated this even more. The Dibi Chicken ($22) proved a study of simplicity in grilling. Juicy chicken, some dry rub, grilled to a char - what you want and nothing more. The grilled onions fared similarly - enough oil and salted for grilling to perfection. The Dibi also came with a side of jollof. The portion size for this and the chicken proved quite generous. ”
“ Starting off strong with the drinks. We got the hibiscus and the ginger pineapple. I have never had hibiscus that was this good ! I knew it would be good when I saw they sold it by the gallon and I will be back to get a gallon. Perfectly sweet bursting with flavors just wow ! The ginger pineapple is great it's the perfect amount of ginger I love how spicy it is it's not over powering but if you don't like ginger please stand clear and do not get this you will love the hibiscus I have no complaints about anything that we ordered the chicken was probably the best chicken I have ever had. All the food is grilled and too perfection. The onions are even seasons so well I wish I got a side of onions to eat with each piece of meat. The price point is perfect for what you get. Plantains are nice and soft exactly how they're supposed to be. The jollof is really good and this is coming from a Nigerian ! Service was great you get there and they communicate to you right away and there is a store connected with some food supplies and gifts. The shop was nice only 2-3 chairs to sit so more of a grab and go spot. 20/10 I would recommend to everyone I know ”
